I. 2024- 2025 VEYM SCHOLARSHIPS

The National Executive Committee is pleased to offer 35 training scholarships to support VEYM Youth Leaders and aspiring Youth Leaders for attending the training camps between January 01, 2025 - December 30, 2025.  

• 5X $150.00 – VEYM Youth Leader Training Camp, Level I
• 5X $200.00 – VEYM Youth Leader Training Camp, Level II
• 15X $250.00 – VEYM Servant Leader Training Camp, Level III
• 10X $150.00 - VEYM Chapter Executive Committee  Orientation Training (in-person) 

All registered adult members in active status and good standing are invited to apply. Please submit a complete scholarship application by December 30, 2024, at 11:59 pm EDT to meet the application deadline. Limit one (1) application per person.

The application must include the following:

1. VEYM Servant Leader Resume includes all relevant VEYM services, roles, and experiences.
2. A short original, previously unpublished written response to the following (response must not exceed two pages, single-spaced, and in 10-pt Time News Roman font): 
   • As servant leaders in the VEYM, you are called to change hearts, heal divisions, and build community through virtues such as courage, humility, foresight, empathy, and stewardship. How has your Chapter and faith community grown as a direct result of your servant leadership?
   • A brief statement indicating the scholarship category you are applying for. 
3. A letter of recommendation from an active Youth Leader who can speak to your services.

 Please submit a complete scholarship application to headquarters@veym.net by December 30th, 2024, at 11:59 pm EDT to meet the application deadline. Limit one (1) application per person.

II. VEYM WELLNESS SUPPORT

VEYM Wellness is a confidential short-term support service designed to assist VEYM adult members gain better insight into their lives, whether it be from a spiritual, psychological, medical, or emotional perspective. The support process involves a therapeutic relationship between you and a priest, a religious brother or sister, or pro-bono licensed mental health provider who will journey with you. The support service involves speaking with a VEYM Wellness member via telephone and may cover a variety of supportive topics per your request. III. PROMOTION REQUEST AND APPROVAL PROCESS

This process comprises three main stages. Below are the step-by-step guides on how to request and approve for promotion. 

A. Protocols for submitting the "Application for Promotion Package"

After successfully completing the training camp and the post-camp assignment as set forth by the Camp Master, you can start your promotion application process by submitting the completed Application for Promotion Package to the affiliated Chapter Board of Executive Officers (Ban Thường Vụ Đoàn) for review.

Your Application for Promotion Package should include the following:

1. 1. The Post-Camp Completion Verification Form with verifying signatures
   2. A proof document of completing the affiliated Parish and Archdiocese's required criminal background check and/or Call to protect God's Children/Sexual Misconduct training
   3. The completed Application for Promotion Form
   4. A copy of the signed Acknowledgment Form after reading the VEYM Code of Conduct, and
   5. A self-portrait photo from chest up in VEYM uniform

B. Process for reviewing and approving the promotion application 

1. 1. The Chapter Boards of Executive Officers: 
      • Review each application package for accuracy and completeness.
      • Ensure the application(s) have been approved and signed off by the Chapter Chaplain and the Chapter President.
      • Submit the application package(s) to the League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers.
   2. The League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers:
      • Review each application package for accuracy and completeness.
      • Check and ensure all signatures are accounted for, and the member is a registered VEYM member in good standing and fully complies with VEYM policies.
      • Enter candidate(s) information into the Promotion Request Excel Sheet. 
      • Submit all application packages along with the Promotion Request Excel Sheet to the National Executive Committee at headquarters@veym.net at least three (3) weeks before the scheduled promotion date. ***Please note that the National Executive Committee will only process promotion requests submitted by the League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers. 
   3. The National Executive Committee:
      • Conduct final review for accuracy and completeness
      • Once approved, issue an "Approval Code" to the League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers. This code is needed to order the promotion package.

C. Instructions for ordering the Promotion Package via VEYM e-Store

1. 1. The League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers go to VEYM e-Store/Promotion-Package and select the corresponding promotion package(s) desired to purchase. 
   2. Enter the "Approval Code" and type in the baptismal and full name(s) of candidates (one candidate per line) with the corresponding ranks who have been approved for promotion. The VEYM Store will use the name(s) you provided to print the certificate(s). 
   3. Click "Add To Cart." If you can pick up the order at the office in Anaheim, CA, please select the "pick up" option to avoid incurring shipping costs.
   4. Proceed to checkout and remit payment via credit card or Zelle to vanphong@veym.net with the Invoice Number and approval code. Once payment is received, the Headquarters will mail the promotion package accordingly.

IV. REPLACEMENT REQUEST FOR MISPLACED YOUTH LEADERS/YOUTH LEADER TRAINERS SCARF AND CERTIFICATES

1. Youth Leaders and Youth Leaders Trainers would need to submit a request for a new scarf or certificate to the affiliated Chapter Board of Executive Officers with the following details:
   • The name of the training camp attended (e.g. Tiberia 15)
   • Date and location of the event
   • Name of the Camp Master (Sa Mạc Trưởng)
   • Name of the Organizing Committee Chairperson (Trưởng Ban Tổ Chức) 
2. The Chapter Board of Executive Officers forwards the request to the League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers and cc: Chapter Chaplain. 
3. The League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers reviews and forwards the request(s) to the National Executive Committee at headquarters@veym.net. 
4. Once reviewed and approved, the National Executive Committee will issue an "Approval Code" to the League of Chapters Board of Executive Officers.
5. The League of Chapter Board of Executive Officers will follow the "Instructions for Ordering the Promotion Package via VEYM e-Store" to purchase the replacement items.
