National Executive Committees issued an interim Youth Leader Hybrid Training Camp policy for level I and II during COVID-19 pandemic.  The policy layouts in details of how to organize virtual training camp for level I and II including but not limited to maximum number of participants, selecting the camp spiritual director, establishing a training committee, and online and in-person lessons and activities.  The policy also emphasizes that the safety guideline must be implemented according to local and state measures.

Những qui định chung và thay đổi về hành chánh sa mạc gữi ra cho toàn quốc co hiệu lực kể từ ngày 3 tháng 5, năm 2014.  Vấn đề tổ chức sa mạc huấn luyện trong Phong Trào Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể Việt Nam tại Hoa Kỳ là một trong những nhu cầu cần thiết để đào tạo Huynh Trưởng và Huấn Luyện Viên các cấp giúp duy trì và phát triển Phong Trào trên toàn quốc. Policy and procedure changes on the administration of training camps are in effect since May 3rd, 2014.  The organizing of training camps in the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement in the U.S.A. (VEYM-USA) is necessary to develop Youth-Leaders and Youth-Leader Trainers of all levels to maintain and develop the VEYM in the United States. The understanding and the implementation of the Servant Leader Training Manual (QCHL) of the Academy Headquarters in those training camps is a crucial matter, especially issues concerning the administrative aspects of organizing and training.

The National Executive Committee issues a memorandum based on the last National Executive meeting on Monday the 15th of September, 2014, providing new guidance of applying for promotion, granting certificates/diplomas, scarfs and inginia badges for Youth Leaders, Youth-Leaders Trainers and Chaplain Assistants.  It also outlines the responsibilities of the training camp participants, regional/league of Chapters Executive Committee, and National Executiive Committee.

Hội Đồng Lãnh Đạo Toàn Quốc trong phiên họp của Hội Đồng tại Atlanta, Giáo Xứ Đức Mẹ Viêt ̣ Nam từ ngày 5 đến 7 tháng 11 năm 2015. with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Any conduct deemed improper, unethical, or immoral could have an exponentially negative impact upon members and the public trust in the integrity of the entire national organization. 

VEYM Code of Conduct

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the National Executive Committee will continue to build on the successful implementation of the VEYM’s Charity Fund with donations from the annual Facebook Giving Tuesday Campaign for Charity. Over the past four years, collectively as an organization, we have raised over $100,000.00 and 100% of the proceeds were directly distributed to charities in the name of the VEYM. Last year, $20,000.00 was donated to St. Luke Foundation through Fr. Rick Frechette’s charity to support the children in Haiti.

For many years, the VEYM has anecdotally been regarded as the modeled organization to cultivate faith among young adults and the cradle for vocation to religious life, however, there is virtually zero empirical data to speak to the efficacy of our Movement. With the VEYM approaching its 40th year in the United States since the official establishment of the National Executive Committee in 1984, the timing of this research is providential.
The VEYM is grateful for Sister Thu T. Do, LHC, Ph.D. Through her proposed study funded by a research grant, CARA is able to conduct this important research. In awe of this blessed  pportunity, I implore all VEYM adult members, to include past and present members, to spare a few minutes to complete this survey as the research findings will have significant implications for our Movement.

In October, the Church places special emphasis on reciting the Rosary as a devotional prayer to Mary. As God has chosen Mary to be the first physical tabernacle for Jesus, God also calls each and every one of us be holy tabernacles for the Eucharist. In the same spirit, the National Executive Committee invites all VEYM members to actively participate in
VEYM’s 2022 Spiritual Bouquet Campaign and unite in devotion to Mary. Together, let us ask for her intercession to keep us on the path of holiness so that we can be a worthy tabernacle for her Son.

The National Executive Committee is pleased to announce the implementation of our VEYM Membership Management System (MMS) as a means to streamline the process of updating, record keeping, and managing VEYM adult member profiles.

At the recent Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) launched the national Eucharistic Revival initiative. Its aim, to renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Through this national movement, the Church in the U.S. hopes to inspire Catholics across the country to restore understanding and devotion, to encounter Jesus’ Real Presence in the Eucharist, and to be sent forth as missionaries “for the life of the world.” More information on USCCB’s Eucharistic Revival can be found at https://www.eucharisticrevival.org.
In union with the USCCB, the VEYM is answering the invitation to revive our belief in the source and summit of our faith, and to strengthen our own mission to be united with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. As announced at the Joshua and Youth Leader Trainers Congress this past summer by our General Chaplain, all VEYM members are called to action.

As Catholics and VEYM members, we are called to be Christ’s disciples to go forth and do apostolic work in an effort to share God’s love. One of the ways in which we can help ourselves and others experience God’s love is through prayers and acts of charity. Through charity, not only we increase our love and respect for our less fortunate brothers and sisters, who are also God’s creation, we also increase our love for God.

With the recent spike in positive COVID cases, states delaying reopening plans, rising concern over a second wave, the uncertainty of a working vaccine, and not to mention, the diminished mental readiness free of worry from our members to fully participate in the excitement leading to VDH7; with the above concerns, the National Leadership Council (Hội Đồng Lãnh Đạo) on June 26th, 2020 has unanimously voted to cancel VDH7 until the condition is more favorable. With faith in the decision rendered, I hereby inform you that our VDH7 event is cancelled until further notice.

Over the last couple weeks, members of the VDH7 Organizing Committee met with all League of Chapters Presidents to assess the current situation and set a way forward for our highly anticipated VDH7. Given the current climate regarding COVID-19 and the guidelines set forth by health officials and government leaders, it is in the best interest and safety of our members, and their families that VDH7 Organizing Committee has unanimously voted to postpone the convention to the following year.

In our Wonders of the Mass series this week we are at the high point of the Liturgy of the Word. This is the moment when God speaks directly to His people through the Gospel Reading. Watch to learn more about why we stand at this moment in the Mass, and other special things that take place during the Mass to show reverence to God's Word.
